Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CareerMap ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

CareerMap is a career infrastructure platform for SaaS teams that provides career framework management, skill gap analysis, impact logging, visual career maps, and leadership dashboards. The Service is provided "as is" and we continuously improve it.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• One person may not maintain more than one account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service beyond the provided API
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with an organization
• Use the Service to store or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, or discriminatory

5. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you submit to CareerMap ("Your Data"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process Your Data solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We will not use Your Data for advertising or sell it to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, documentation, and code, is owned by CareerMap and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service. "CareerMap" and our logo are trademarks of CareerMap.

7. API Usage

Access to the CareerMap API is governed by our API Documentation. API usage is subject to rate limits. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend API access for excessive or abusive usage.

8. Payment Terms

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
• All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated or required by law.
• We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes apply at the next billing cycle.
• If payment fails, we may suspend access to the Service after a grace period.

9. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.

10. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time through the account settings. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you may request an export of Your Data within 30 days.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERMAP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CareerMap from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
